A delegation from the EESC, consisting of President Staffan Nilsson and Members Brenda King, Hans-Joachim Wilms and Lutz Ribbe, will be participating in the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, widely known as “Rio+20″, taking place in Rio de Janeiro from 19 to 22 June. They will take with them the list of key messages that came out of one-year-long consultations with European civil society organisations and other partners from around the world, calling on our political leaders to place sustainable development at the centre of global policy making. Participants will be urged to commit to a concrete action plan.
