Amongst and Active
2012 is the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations.
Sounds good, but what does this really mean?
Going to the gym on a regular basis and staying healthy, seeing your children and grandchildren
frequently in order to link the generations?
Getting older is not the same today as it was for the generations of our parents and grandparents.
Today we are facing new challenges caused by technological, medical and societal changes in the past decades. Not only will we have an increasing number of elderly people, but it is already a fact that we remain more active and live longer. This again has an impact on today’s society. People would like to live as long as possible independently at home – we want to be amongst others and be an active part of everyday life.
