2012-09-13 An event entitled ‘Sustainable2Wheels” will take place on 18 September 2012 in Brussels, Belgium.
As cities have become home to the vast majority of the world population, governments are struggling to provide transport infrastructure that accommodates the needs of their citizens. In many of the world’s largest cities, most people still use their private car. By doing so, they worsen road congestion and increase the levels of greenhouse gas emissions.
The conference proposes a transportation system that contributes to a sustainable urban environment by minimising negative impacts whilst enjoying the socio-economic and cultural development of the urban environment. The event will be a demonstration of contemporary bicycles, electric bicycles, scooters and motorcycles, particularly suited for urban transport.
